Roy Said What?

Joe “The WARMonger” Lieberman or is it WhoreMonger?

The Zionist senator from Connecticut is at it again. He’s doing all he can to get us into a war with Iran.

Look at him beg Petraeus to ask him for the authority to attack. Funny Petraeus didn’t take the bait, is there sanity in the military?

This time teamed up with the dishonorable fellow neo-con artist Jon Kyl. (Z-AZ)** $163,025*. Together, they introduced an amendment to a bill that thru a long list of questionable facts and out of context quotes suggest that it is the sense of the senate that we invade another country on the PNAC “wish” (read Hit) list. Iran.

You can read about the Axis of Evil and other scary PNAC stories in this Sept 2000 PNAC report “Rebuilding America’s Defenses” here.

Doing a quick review of the amendment co-sponsors we find:
Joe Lieberman (Z-CT)** $268258*
Norm Coleman (Z-MN)** $38,980*
Lamar Alexander (W-TN)**
John Ensign (W-NV)** $21,700*
Lindsey Graham (W-SC)**
* Pro-Israel PAC Contributions to 2006 Congressional Candidates
** W=War Party or Bushite, Z=Zionist Party

So, we’ve got two (2) Zionist senators and three (3) War party senators.

So what exactly is a “Sense of the Senate” amendment.

It’s really nothing. Okay, not nothing, but it is only Senate doublespeak for “we wish we could make this a law.” It’s a posturing thing. But don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s nothing to worry about.

They’re laying the track for the train to war. They really don’t care how long it takes. And it doesn’t really matter who the President is going to be. The alignment is nearing completion and all we need now is a fake attack to set it off.

Anyway, here’s the Amendment that passed overwhelmingly yesterday, 76-22.

No kidding, it passed. Okay, so they had to tone down the war rhetoric a little, but nonetheless, your senators voted for it.

(b) Sense of Senate.–It is the sense of the Senate–

(1) that the manner in which the United States transitions and structures its military presence in Iraq will have critical long-term consequences for the future of the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, in particular with regard to the capability of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to pose a threat to the security of the region, the prospects for democracy for the people of the region, and the health of the global economy;

(2) that it is a vital national interest of the United States to prevent the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran from turning Shi’a militia extremists in Iraq into a Hezbollah-like force that could serve its interests inside Iraq, including by overwhelming, subverting, or co-opting institutions of the legitimate Government of Iraq;

(3) that it should be the policy of the United States to combat, contain, and roll back the violent activities and destabilizing influence inside Iraq of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its foreign facilitators such as Lebanese Hezbollah, and its indigenous Iraqi proxies;

(4) to support the prudent and calibrated use of all instruments of United States national power in Iraq, including diplomatic, economic, intelligence, and military instruments, in support of the policy described in paragraph (3) with respect to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies;

(5) that the United States should designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a foreign terrorist organization under section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and place the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps on the list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists, as established under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act and initiated under Executive Order 13224; and

(6) that the Department of the Treasury should act with all possible expediency to complete the listing of those entities targeted under United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1737 and 1747 adopted unanimously on December 23, 2006 and March 24, 2007, respectively.

The warmongers in the senate are using the exact same strategy with this amendment that they did when they were laying the groundwork for invasion of Iraq.

Checkout this video on Talking Points Memo. Josh goes over a 1998 amendment that is eerily similar to this one just passed.

Talking Points Memo, is an awesome blog of Joshua Micah Marshall. Cool stuff there.
